A friend of mine is a retired SJPD Motorcycle Officer. He told me awhile back that you can have them on your bike. BUT, you should not have them on while in motion. Most likely should only be used as show when parked. On the other hand, I forgot to turn mine off one night and rode around for abit one night. No LEOs bothered me

That's been my general understanding as well. Even with the lights underneath the bike, I would imagine that you could still be mistaken for a motor officer or some other kind of distraction. It's a shame that the public can't ride with them, I can easily see the blue lights from the rear of their bikes a 1/2 mile or better at dawn or dusk heading to or coming from work.

I think the lights make the bike more visible at night, therefore safer.

Here in Texas , if blue lights are on a becon they can not flash and they can only cast light so far.

So I got a question because I'm thinking of ordering a joe florida set off of ebay thats a good deal... While some of these sets use zip ties, some use 3M tape as well. Did anyone use the 3M tape to attach the LED's? If so, can the 3m tape be removed easilly from the bike without ripping in half and leaving some tape stuck to the frame??

Also, it looks like mostly blues and reds have been used by people in this thread... any thoughts from you guys on LED colors like amber/yellow/orange? I have the black and yellow 08 M50 and would like to try to keep with the color scheme, but havent really ever seen these colors on a bike.

I just painted from that blue purple 2007 color to orange and im fixin to change my blue lights to green to better match the orange. I think amber would look good on a black yellow bike.

I had a strip of 24 on each of the rails of the rear fender mounting bracket just above the wheel. I also had a strip of 48 along each of the lower frame rails and a strip of 24 under each side of the tank it looked like this theese arent the greatest pictures.
