Default Any Tips for installing Mutazu Trunk and Hardbags

I ordered both a Mutazu DB Trunk and MU Hardbags for my 2009 C50T. The first pkg, the Trunk arrived today. Only one and a half weeks from California to Manitoba Canada

I was hoping to see some installation instructions in the box, but they just left a Good Luck To Ya note.

So hoping to avoid any pitfalls I am turning to VR members for any suggestions or examples if they added these to their ride. Thanks

I'll add pics from my install when finished if nothing here already.

The trunk is a plastic box. You drill holes and mount it on some flat surface. What are you mounting on? A Wompus rack, or something else?

Hi CactusJack

Not sure what I am doing yet. Have not started(putting siding on house), although I ordered the base plate too. Looks like it needs to go on a rack or something. Like I said have not started yet and hope bags arrive this week too. Thought I'd throw it out early and maybe run across someone who added them already. Too lazy to think today LOL.

Will probably start installing in a few days though if I have all I need. Gotta check out wiring also. More lights is good!!!

A quick update.

As always before installing I test things if possible. In this case the lights. I found that although the lights on the DB Trunk worked the wiring info page was wrong, so don't trust it. The lights on the MU Bags are not working at all no matter how I connect the power.

By the way I am not using the bike for power supply just a simple 12V battery about half the size of a AA, works great for this stuff.

Gotta contact Mutazu about lights issue, I'll let you all know what happens there.

Still hunting for a cheap rack to support the trunk. Why use a nice piece of chrome if your going to cover it up.

Buy the Mutazu hardbag mounting bracket kit, $40. Comes with everything you need and will save you a lot of headaches fabbing your own.

I used Easy Brackets to install my Mutazu MU bags.

Some don't like how wide they hold the bags, but I like the wide, beefy look. Plus, you just cannot beat how quick you can remove the bags with a twist of the key.
