Homemade Fender Tips Update
After my last post I decided I liked the front tip best because of it's thickness.
I decided to remake the rear tip and discovered I could have made all 3 tips from a single piece of aluminum. The piece I purchased came from Lowe's and measured 1/8 x 2" x 3'. Here is a template to show you how to layout each piece before you start cutting.

Next are the actual templates I made to cut my original tips except for a minor
modification I had to make to the rear tip so they would all come from the same aluminum bar. If you print these make sure your printer is set to print them in actual size.

The only downside is they are two pieces instead of solid but I'm not worried about. Heres a picture of the original rear tip and then the new tip made from the thicker stock. I think the new one will look much better.

To get the right fit I bent the pieces by hand until I had it the way I wanted it.
The first once I made were attached with automotive double stick tape but I think I'll drill holes in the new one's to mount them. All in all with the cost of the aluminum, sandpaper and clear spray to seal them I would have had about $25.00 in the total project.
Have fun, I know I did.
